The Long Game

I absolutely love the game of golf—both playing it and watching it. And when it comes to watching, nothing compares to The Masters. From the first tee shot to the final putt, I was completely hooked this weekend (and yes, I logged more hours in front of the TV than I’d care to admit!).

Yesterday, Rory McIlroy finally slipped on the green jacket, completing the career Grand Slam after years of near-misses and heartbreak at Augusta.

It wasn’t just a win—it was a masterclass in resilience, the kind that reminds us that growth often happens in the valleys, not just the victories. Rory stayed in the flow, trusting his game, learning from setbacks, and keeping faith in the long journey.

This week, my daughter Hannah tees it up for her very first golf match with the Tartan North golf team. Watching her step into the game fills me with a mix of pride and joy. Her journey is just beginning—but like Rory, it won’t be defined by any single round. It’s about showing up, learning from every swing, and staying grounded in the moment.

Golf, like life, teaches us patience. Perseverance. Perspective. Whether you’re chasing a grand slam or your first par, it’s all part of learning in the flow of life.

Let’s go, Hannah. The Masters may be a tradition like no other, but watching you grow, learn, and chase your own golf dreams—that’s even more meaningful to me!
