Recently, I was reminded of the incredible kindness and love that surrounds us every day. In a time of need for members of my family, who happen to be seniors, family, friends, and even perfect strangers stepped up in ways that left me deeply moved. Their selflessness reaffirmed my belief in the message of Alabama’s song *Angels Among Us*—there truly are angels walking among us.
This experience also opened my eyes to the complexity of navigating support systems for our loved ones. It highlighted the critical need for advocacy and compassion in these moments.
If you want to learn more, check out online resources like the following: National Insititute on Aging, AARP, or search online.
You can also support nonprofits like the organization where I volunteer, Help At Your Door. There are organizations like Help At Your Door in most communities.
Or just pick up the phone and call a family member or friend who happens to be a senior. If you think you don’t have time for that, check out how much time you spent on your phone last week, I guarantee you have time….
I’m committed to continuing to help where I can and to advocate for those who need it most. I encourage all of you to do the same—whether for someone you know or a stranger in need. Together, we can all be someone’s angel.
