Anything is possible!

If you have been following my posts over the last few months, you read about my journey to publish my grandfather's World War II Diary as a book.

While I read a lot, I didn't think I had what it takes to publish a book. I was thinking about a college literature and writing course where my grade was less than stellar as well as what I have heard about big stars publishing their books with giant signing bonuses..waaaay out of my league.

What changed?

It started when I heard words of encouragement about my weekly blog posts about learning. Many of you reached out to share how much you enjoy my posts about learning.

From there I had an ephiphany, about a book that was already far along in the writing cycle, my grandpa's World War II Diary. I felt compelled to bring my grandfather's story to life.

I immediately got to work, asking for help from authors Steve Rosenbaum and Mary Connaughty-Sullivan. They provided advice on the process and I began editing the existing materials and writing a preface.

Progress was slow based upon my other responsibilities and I decided I needed some help so I reached out to a former colleague who had no experience with publishing a book but possessed amazing design skills and creative thought leadership, Kim Rodgers.

Kim brought so much to the book including ideas for additional segments in the book, editing and proof reading and overall driving us towards a finished product my grandpa would be proud of and my grandma is proud of!!!

I know I have posted elements of the experience before but now that the book is live and available on Amazon , I can look back with additional perspective on the journey, with a better understanding of what I learned.

Most of what I learned is reinforcement of the impact of goal setting, activity in the form of habit driving results and the transformational power of teamwork.

Big picture I learned is that anything is possible. Now anything is only possible when knowledge, skill, teamwork, investment, effort, inspiration and a little bit of luck come together.

I hope you enjoy the book and continue to Learn In The Flow Of Life!
