Every year when I am setting goals for the year or starting a major project, I watch this video from Steve Harvill of Creative Ventures.
I encourage you to watch the video for your own takeaways, but if you are short on time, the key message is about the power of simplicity.
Specifically he calls out the “power of 3,” highlighting examples of traffic lights 🚦, Einstein’s E=MC squared and other powerful examples.
I watch the video to remind me to streamline my goals to the smallest number possible, maximizing my chances of achieving 🏆 what’s truly important.
I have to admit that I feel the draw to add more goals and sometimes don’t get it down to three, but the video and his equally simple business planning approach ensures I’m closer to 3 than the dozens of ideas that could make the list.
Now that I think of it, my favorite character Yoda only has three fingers…another powerful example of 3 it is!
What other examples would you add that highlight the power of 3 and simplicity?
