Learning in the Flow—Josh Bersin Style

I recently listened to a great episode from The Josh Bersin Company podcast—“Digital Twins, The Curiosity Cycle, and Radical Changes in Corporate Learning”. It felt like he was speaking directly to themes I’ve explored here on the blog and what my colleagues and I like Laurel Ley are exploring in the learning and development world at work.
He talks about the “curiosity cycle”—how staying curious fuels learning and growth. That reminded me of my post Be like a bee!. Bees don’t just sit still—they explore, they move, they learn on the go. Same with us. When we stay curious, we grow.
Bersin also digs into how learning is shifting. It’s no longer about sitting in a classroom—it’s about learning in the moment. That hit home with what I shared in AI will drive transformational value or more time wasting?. We need tech to help us learn better, not distract us. Real learning happens in real time.
And when I stepped in as a coach (see Time to step up, Coach!), I didn’t get trained—I just jumped in. That’s learning in the flow.
Listening to Josh Bersin reinforced a belief I hold deeply: the most powerful learning happens in the flow of life. Whether it’s leading a team, experimenting with a new technology, or simply staying curious, growth doesn’t wait for a scheduled training—it shows up in everyday moments.
Let’s keep learning, not just through books or formal programs, but through curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
What about you? What did you learn today—not from a course, but from life?
Learn in the flow of life.
Jason
